North Carolina Republicans hold 71 House seats, one short of a veto-proof 72, and exactly the 30 Senate seats needed. They overrode four of Gov. Josh Stein’s vetoes in June when two non-Republicans were absent. One seat on Nov. 3 decides whether Stein’s veto still matters.
